God of War flt (commonly referred to as God of War 4) is an upcoming third-person action-adventure video game in development by Santa Monica Studio and to be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). It will be the eighth installment in the God of War series, the eighth chronologically, and the sequel to 2010’s God of War III. The game will be loosely based on Norse mythology and will follow an older and more seasoned Kratos and his new son Atreus in the years since God of War III.

Development began in 2014 after the release of Ascension; with a larger production team than previous installments, it has been described as “the most ambitious game” in the series. Creative director Cory Barlog returned for the project, alongside other team members who worked on earlier games. Máté Petrány from Kotaku said that 2018’s God of War was a “soft reboot” for the franchise.

God of War is an action-adventure game franchise created by David Jaffe at Sony’s Santa Monica Studio. It began in 2005 on the PlayStation 2 (PS2) video game console, and has become a flagship title for the PlayStation brand, consisting of eight games across multiple platforms with a ninth currently in development. Based in ancient mythology, the story follows Kratos, a Spartan warrior tricked into killing his wife and daughter by his former master, the Greek God of War Ares. This sets off a series of events that lead to wars with the mythological pantheons. The Greek mythology era of the series sees Kratos follow a path of revenge due to the machinations of the Olympian gods; in response, he sides with the Titans for revenge on Zeus, King of the Olympians. In God of War (2018), set in Norse mythology, Kratos acts as a father and mentor to Atreus, his son.

The first seven games make up the Greek era of the series; beginning with Ascension (2013), they take place before the original game (2005). The eighth game, Ghost of Sparta (2010), is set between God of War and God of War II (2007). The ninth game will be set in Norse mythology

Spartan warrior Kratos is living a life of solitude on the edge of the world, accompanied only by his son, Atreus. They have their work cut out for them: their father must teach Atreus to hunt, and Atreus must learn to communicate with his father. But as you can see in this exclusive first look at God of War’s E3 2017 demo, the pair have yet to master either skill.

In that same demo, we saw Kratos engage in battle with a troll. In this scene (filmed here at E3 2017 by Game Informer’s Kyle Hilliard), they are hunting deer.

“He’ll have many enemies,” writes Sony Santa Monica’s Cory Barlog in an email to Game Informer about Atreus’ role in the game and his relationship with Kratos. “He will grow throughout the game both physically and emotionally. He has much to learn from his father and much that he already knows that clashes with his father’s teachings.”

God of War comes out early next year for PlayStation 4.

Kratos, the protagonist of the series, is a Spartan warrior who became the “Ghost of Sparta” after accidentally killing his family due to Ares’ machinations. Years after being deceived into killing his family and losing everything that he loved, Kratos is saved by Athena, who convinces him to serve Olympus in order to atone for his sins. In each installment, Kratos has been portrayed as a victim of circumstance; all three games depict him as a tragic antihero who kills innocents and gods alike, despite not wanting to do so, only doing so out of rage or pressure. As the series progresses, he slowly becomes more calm and “human”, but still retains his rage and desire for vengeance.

God of War is a action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). Released on April 20, 2018, for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) console, it is the eighth installment in the God of War series, the eighth chronologically, and the sequel to 2010’s God of War III. Unlike previous games, which were loosely based on Greek mythology, this installment is rooted in Norse mythology, with the majority of it set in ancient Norway in the realm of Midgard. For the first time in the series, there are two protagonists: Kratos, the former Greek God of War who remains the only playable character, and his young son Atreus; at times, the player may passively control him. Following the death of Kratos’ second wife and Atreus’ mother, they journey to fulfill her request that her ashes be spread at the highest peak of the nine realms. Kratos keeps his troubled past a secret from Atreus, who is unaware of his divine nature. Along their journey, they encounter gods and mythical creatures as they travel through several realms.

The game continues the previous installments’ gameplay by focusing on combo-based combat with a weapon known as Leviathan Axe that has a

on, you’ll need to make your way over a series of crumbling towers. This is easily done by using the axe to create a zipline. To initiate, run up a wall and Kratos will climb on top of it. Aim, throw and hold R1/RB to create a zipline from one tower to the other. Do this until you reach the ship at the end.

Inside the ship, you’ll encounter more enemies, including some tougher ones with shields. Just as before, try to get them on their own and use your shield break move to deal with their defences.

Eventually you’ll come across another burning wheel puzzle. Use your axe’s shockwave attack and Atreus’ arrows to break the debris in front of it so you can rotate the wheel and open the gate nearby. Head through the gate and then down into the large cavern below.

Atreus will tell you about another Nornir chest nearby. You can see it sitting above a door with three bells hanging above it. To open this chest, shoot all three bells with your axe so they ring simultaneously within a few seconds of each other.
