Fordyce Spots on Lips After Juvederm

Fordyce Spots on Lips After Juvederm

Well, fordyce spots on lips after juvederm is a very common issue. Usually, these spots will appear within 6 weeks after injection, and it may last for only a few weeks. And if you are not so lucky, they may last really long time. By the way, they are not harmful to your body. Don’t worry too much.

Fordyce spots on lips after Juvederm

These are Fordyce spots and are normal. They are not related to the Juveder.

You should have the doctor see these and determine what they are. Fordyce spots are usually not seen after filler injection, but this is possible.

Seek a second opinion from another board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon in your area.

Best,

Dr. Green

The following are some of the most common causes of Fordyce spots on lips:

  1. Clogged oil glands
  2. Hormonal imbalance or excess sebum production
  3. Stress
  4. Genetic factors
  5. Poor hygiene

Juvederm is an injectable hyaluronic acid that is used to plump up the lips. Juvederm is a great filler, but sometimes can cause bumps or nodules after injection.

These nodules may just be small lumps of the hyaluronic acid product itself, or they can be a reaction of the body with the product.

If you have had any swelling, there is nothing to worry about. The swelling should subside in 1-2 days. If you do not have any swelling and still have bumps or nodules, you may need to have them dissolved by your doctor with an enzyme called Hyaluronidase. You can call and make an appointment to return for this treatment.

I think you need to go back to your doctor. If there is a lump, it will probably go away as the swelling subsides. If not, ask if they can do massage or try to dissolve a small amount of the filler.

I had juvederm in my lips 4 weeks ago. The swelling has gone and now I have these small white bumps on the corners of my lips that look like fordyce spots. I’m going back to the dermatologist tomorrow to see if he can help me.

I am so worried that they will never go away because it is a permanent filler.

Has anyone experienced this?

The “white bumps” you’re describing may be fordyce spots, which are normal oil glands on the lips. Fordyce spots may become more noticeable after an injection such as juvederm.

In most cases, they are not bothersome and they do not require treatment to make them go away.

However, if they are causing you a great deal of anxiety, it may be worth having them treated with a laser or another method. If you want to treat them, I recommend consulting with a board-certified dermatologist in order to learn about your options.

A few small white bumps on the lips can be normal, but when they become noticeable, they can be unsightly. The tiny white bumps are usually called Fordyce spots. These spots are also known as Fordyce granules or Fordyce glands.

Fordyce spots are harmless. They usually appear as small bumps or dots on the lips, though sometimes they can look like pimples. They may be red, yellow-white, or skin-colored. Fordyce spots typically appear on the vermilion border of the lips. This is the area between the inside of the lips and the skin of the face.

Fordyce spots can be found on other areas of the body, too, including in the mouth and genital area.

You probably have fordyce spots, which are normal sebaceous glands exhibited as small white bumps. No treatment is necessary unless they bother you. If you do want them removed, it can be done with cautery or laser.

I have had the same thing on my lips since juvederm in august. I had them injected by a Dr. and they looked great for a while but then the little white bumps came out. I have tried everything to get rid of them and nothing seems to work. Make up, baking soda, toothpaste, you name it, I have tried it! I am going to try the lemon juice next. What did your Dr. say about them? What kind of doctor are you seeing to get them removed?

The product is produced by Allergan, the company that also produces Botox. This of course means that they have years of experience with injectables and have produced a quality product. The company also has many products in clinical trials right now and will continue to produce new products in the future.

If you’ve tried other fillers but are looking for something new, this may be just what you need.

One issue with Juvederm is that it only lasts about six months. If you want something that lasts a little longer, Restylane may be an option for you. Restylane usually lasts about nine months and can sometimes last up to a year. It’s also much cheaper than Juvederm and has fewer side effects, so it’s worth trying if you’re looking for something more affordable.

I’ve had this problem since I was a teenager… I’m 60 now. It really bothers me because the bumps are always there, even after waxing. I have scoured the internet for solutions and it’s all the same.

There is no proven solution except to live with it.

I wish that doctors could stop messing around and come up with a solution… or at least an explanation of what it is and how to get rid of it!
